I was an internationally trained nurse, I trained in Ireland. And from the moment I came here, I was welcomed and I’ve received top class training. I came as a band five and I’ve recently got a matrons post. So I’ve been able to progress through. I know it’s quite hard in other hospitals, but here if they see your worth and they see how good you are, they’ll grow you and they’ll help you get to where you want to be. I didn’t see myself being a matron eight years ago, I thought I was like, oh, I’ll come to Kings for a year, I’ll go to Australia or whatever. And I’m hooked. I love it here and I don’t see myself working in a different hospital. I just love being here.
